Cincinnati Radon Mitigation has been successful in Cincinnati radon services for years because it’s clear to our customers that they are our #1 priority.
Customer service is everything to us, beginning with the initial radon level testing through your radon mitigation solution, if, in fact, one is needed. Radon testing cost should never be the reason you put off radon testing, so we keep our prices reasonable for our valued customers. When it comes to great value and reliable service, you won’t find a better team anywhere in Cincinnati Ohio or the surrounding area! Studies show that 2 out of 3 homes in the U.S. have what the EPA considers to be acceptable radon levels. This means that for about 1 in 3, excessive radon gas levels will be present. High radon levels should be addressed swiftly to avoid exposing your family to a known cancer-causing element for any longer than they already have been. Cincinnati Radon Mitigation can help you determine the right type of radon removal system for you, but only after proper testing. We offer traditional radon testing that takes anywhere from just a few days to three months – whatever length it takes for us to get an accurate reading. Or, if you prefer, we can install a radon gas detector in your home so you can monitor radon levels in your home at all times. No matter which method for radon testing Cincinnati home and business owners choose, we can ensure that the results are 100% accurate so that your next decision can be based on fact, not speculation or fear. |

Importance of Radon Testing
Indoor air quality is extremely important since most of us spend 10-12 hours a day in our homes. Things like mold and mildew may be obvious to the naked eye, but radon, a far more dangerous substance, is completely undetectable. Therefore, radon inspection is absolutely necessary to know for sure if there’s a problem.
We recommend that Cincinnati Ohio homeowners have radon testing done once a year to maintain safe radon levels. (Keep reading to find out more about radon levels.)
A radon test can be administered without any inconvenience on your part. To conduct a professional radon inspection, one of our radon experts comes to your home and installs a temporary monitor that will remain in place until we have sufficient information to make a recommendation about the radon levels within your home.

DIY RADON TESTING VS PROFESSIONAL RADON TESTING
In an effort to offset radon testing cost, some homeowners choose to purchase a radon testing kit and administer the test themselves. If your goal is to do preliminary testing, but you know you’ll end up calling a pro anyway, we’d say go right ahead.
There’s nothing wrong with self-testing kits. The issue in reliability usually comes with the inexperience of the test administrator – in this case, the homeowner.
For the most accurate results, we recommend a long-term test. Radon level testing should be done in a span of time where you will be heating your home and while you are not, since radon levels vary between seasons. The device should not be moved during testing, and you should refrain from opening windows and doors during the test, since this can affect actual radon levels.
And, obviously, you should follow all directions to the letter. Otherwise, the validity of your results will be compromised.

Radon Detector
Acceptable radon levels are extremely low, barely perceptible. Routine testing is one way you can keep a check on your home’s levels. Cincinnati Radon Mitigation can gladly provide these services to you as often as you like.
Another way to monitor radon levels is to let us install a radon gas detector in your home. These devices constantly monitor and record radon levels within your home, so we can see if there are fluctuations, when these discrepancies are happening, and, in many cases, give us the clues we need to resolve any radon gas issues in your home very quickly.

Know about Radon Levels
A thorough radon inspection will include the lowest levels of your home because that’s where radon gas tends to settle, being a heavy gas. In fact, radon gas is one step in a chain of chemical reactions that result in lead!
Radon levels within your home are deemed safe if they are at or below 0.4 pCi/L. This measurement is used because it is the average outdoor concentration of radon.
- Measurements from 0.4 to 2.0 pCi/L are considered low, although any radon specialist will tell you that there are no truly safe radon levels. Any exposure, especially in a contained area where ventilation does not occur, remediation should at least be considered.
- Levels between 2.0 and 4.0 are ‘consider action’ levels, as named by the EPA. While it is not required that homeowners have remediation done at any level, this is definitely where your testing team will begin to strongly suggest that you have a remediation plan in place.
- Radon levels above 4.0 pCi/L are extremely dangerous. Long-term exposure to radon gas at this level (or higher) increases the risk of lung and other types of cancers by 50% or more.
No matter how much radon gas is found in your home, we can install a system that will reduce high levels or keep low ones consistent!
